Singers to come together for Faces of Love
As part of the Lively Arts’ Sound Choices series, the Department of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present Faces of Love on March 9.
Various ensembles from IUP’s choral program will perform starting at 3 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall, located on the second floor of John Sutton Hall.
With more than 150 singers, including guest faculty musicians Stanley Chepaitis on violin and Jacob Ertl on piano, the repertoire for Faces of Love spans more than 500 years and four continents of musical expression.
The ensembles are under the direction of Ryan Beeken, IUP’s director of choral studies.
“Music expresses many emotions regardless of genre, historical context or nationality, with love being the most frequently conveyed,” Beeken said.
“The concert explores multiple manifestations of love through music, including love of God, romantic love and the love of place.”
Tickets are available in advance at the Hadley Union Building, by calling (724) 357-1313 or online at IUPTickets.com.
Tickets remaining will be sold at the door starting at 2:15 p.m. the day of the concert.
Tickets are $9 regular admission, $8 for senior citizens and $6 for students and children.
