St. Andrew's Village presents Summer Fest
St. Andrew’s Village invites members of the community to its 11th annual Summer Fest Celebration Saturday at 1155 Indian Springs Road, White Township.
This family day begins at 11 a.m. and will conclude at 4:30 p.m.
The schedule includes three outdoor concerts featuring Cool Change, which will send listeners back to the 1960s and ’70s era; the Blairsville Community Band, with its nearly 30 local musicians; and Jack Tady and the Tady Bears, a polka band.
Performances by the Creekside Sparks and Flames and the Twinkle Toes Dance Group are also planned.
“The entertainment slated for our summer fest features music that is sure to appeal to everyone. These talented performers will definitely get your feet tapping,” Kim Kelly-Clutter, director of marketing at St. Andrew’s, said in a release. “We invite all to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the music of these wonderful performers.”
The schedule also includes a classic car and truck show and an antique tractor display. The first 50 car show participants will receive a commemorative dash plaque. People’s choice awards will be presented for both cars and trucks and antique tractors; and prizes for the best of show and oldest vehicles will be awarded. All car show participants will also be registered for special door prizes. Car show registration opens at 10:30 a.m. and there is no registration fee.
Guests can enjoy a train ride around the campus, have a caricature done or try to dunk some local professionals who will be perched atop the dunk tank.
The American Red Cross and St. Andrew’s Village will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to noon in the Village House.
The St. Andrew’s auxiliary, Friends of the Village, will sell picnic food, cotton candy, popcorn and other refreshments and hold raffles for a Kindle Fire Wireless HD 4G LTE and a gift card package.
“The concession stand serves as one of the auxiliary’s major fundraisers. All proceeds will benefit the residents at St. Andrew’s Village,” said Eric Roadman, volunteer director at St. Andrew’s.
Raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the day and winners will be drawn at 4 p.m.
