Indiana County Sheriff Robert Fyock on Thursday demonstrated how Bak, the sheriff department’s drug-sniffing German shepherd, can locate illegal narcotics.

Fyock and Bak participated in the Youth Leadership Conference for high school students sponsored by the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

The conference helped students recognize the signs and symptoms of addiction to drugs, alcohol and gambling, highlighted community resources and promoted making positive choices to develop community leaders who are “Above the Influence.” (Tom Peel/Gazette photo)
