United Way reaches 85 percent of goal
The United Way of Indiana County is at 85 percent of its fundraising goal of $737,000 with about three weeks to go in the campaign.
The United Way benefits almost 8,000 Indiana County residents — funds raised in the county stay in the county.
Two upcoming fundraising events are taking place before the campaign is over.
An annual Souper Bowl fundraising event is planned for Jan. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nap’s Cucina Mia, 1033 Philadelphia St., Indiana. The soups will be chicken pastina, chili and spicy tomato gorgonzola. The meal will include soup, bread and a beverage for a minimum donation of $7 per person.
The annual meeting and awards breakfast is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Rustic Lodge, 2199 Oakland Ave., White Township. The minimum donation of $19 per person includes a full breakfast buffet.
To contribute to this year’s campaign or register for the breakfast event, contact the United Way office at (724) 463-0277. Donations can also be mailed to the United Way of Indiana County, 982 Philadelphia St., Indiana.
