United Way recognizes new members
The board of directors of the United Way of Indiana County has named five new members to its volunteer board.
New board members are Ann Marie Everett, Michelle Fryling, Jenn Myers, Kevin Sergent and Mike Tshudy.
The United Way of Indiana County impacts one in two individuals in Indiana County by investing critical resources in education, income and health. Donations to the United Way of Indiana County remain in the local community, funding programs at the 14 partner agencies.
Board members are actively preparing for the 2013 campaign, which will formally begin with a kickoff event on Sept. 26, and are working to secure employee workplace-giving programs as well as several other fundraising initiatives.
One of the first fundraising projects is the September 2013 30-Day Giveaway, which offers opportunities to win up to $1,000 through the month of September.
Tickets for the giveaway are available for $10 from any United Way board member and will also be sold at the Indiana County Fair.
Prizes, which are given every day during the month, are sponsored by more than 30 Indiana County individuals and businesses, with the $1,000 grand prize co-sponsored by First Commonwealth Bank, AFS Financial, Scerbo’s Pharmacy and Indiana Audiology. Project design and printing sponsors are S&T Bank, Park Press and Diamond Drug.
Tickets can also be purchased by calling the United Way office at (724) 463-0277.
