REUNION: A reunion for the descendants of Bennett and Mary Bell Warden Van Horn will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 3 at Blue Spruce Park, Pavilion 1A.

Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and a homemade item for the silent auction. Plates, utensils and drinks will be provided. For more information, phone Rick at (724) 349-1565.


DAY CAMP: A 4-H Day Camp with the theme “Go Wild” will be held in Plumville Aug. 5 to 7 for children ages 7 to 12. Activities will focus on wildlife, forestry and nature. A camp tour is also included. Cost is $35. To obtain a registration brochure, contact Penn State Extension at (724) 465-3880.


DINNER: St. Anne’s Byzantine Catholic Church will hold its annual grilled chicken and halushki (cabbage and homemade dumplings) dinner beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at the church, 360 Franklin St., Clymer.

The dinner is takeout only and will continue until sold out. The cost is $10 per meal and includes vegetable, baked beans, roll and dessert. All are welcome.


REGISTRATION: Sunshine Preschool is now taking registration for fall semester classes.

The preschool is held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the lower level of Dayton United Methodist Church. Classes are open to children ages 3 to 5. Sunshine Preschool is a Christian-based school that provides a safe, secure and nurturing atmosphere where each child may grow emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually to develop a lifelong love for learning.

SPORTS‚ÄąCAMP: Indiana Alliance Church will offer a mega sports camp from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 4 to 8 at the White Township Recreation Center, along East Pike, White Township.

The free camp is available for children age 4 through grade 6. There will be basketball, soccer and cheerleading. All skill levels are welcome.

TEE TIME: The Chestnut Ridge Women’s golf league held play July 16. Gloria Bartek was the chairwoman for the event.

The game of the day was “O.N.E.S.”. The event winner was Martha Miller, and the 50/50 winner was Roz Cavalancia.

Starting time is 9 a.m. Thursdays and players should arrive by 8:30 a.m.
