HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Indiana, Blairsville to meet in Optimist final

Blairsville and Indiana will play in the championship game of the 45th annual Indiana Optimist Club Basketball Tournament after winning semifinal games Thursday night at Indiana High School.

Blairsville defeated Homer-Center, 59-50, and Indiana beat West Shamokin, 65-47, to set up Saturday’s championship game. The game tips off at 2 p.m. Indiana is the defending champion.

Troy Williams scored a game-high 30 points in Blairsville’s victory. Jaylen Rydbom added 16 points.

Aaron Berezansky scored 14 points to lead Homer-Center, and John Capitosti and Jacob Citeroni scored 13 points apiece.

Riley Stapleton scored a game-high 20 points for Indiana, and Blake Shields added 10 points.

Jake Hough led West Shamokin with 16 points, and Zac Horner chipped in 12 points.

Senior all-star games will follow Saturday’s championship game.

The girls’ all-star game tips off at 3:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 5.
