HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: Indiana teams beat Derry, lose to Franklin Regional
DERRY — The Indiana High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each defeated Derry and fell to Franklin Regional in a triangular meet Tuesday.
The Indiana boys’ team beat Derry, 25-35, but fell to Franklin Regional, 24-39. Franklin Regional beat Derry, 15-50.
Adam Lenze led the Indiana boys and placed second with a time of 16 minutes, 53 seconds.
Ryan Louther finished fourth (17:33), and Sam Lenze (19:49), Brian Bowersox (19:56) and Austin Rhodes (20:03) rounded out Indiana’s top five.
The Indiana girls’ team defeated Derry, 17-42, but lost to Franklin Regional, 22-33. Franklin Regional beat Derry, 16-49.
Kacey Raible placed third (21:27) to lead the girls’ team.
Melanie Zolocsik took fourth (21:54), Jess Lenze placed seventh (22:37), Taylor Thomas took 10th (23:01) and Beth Balencic finished 11th (23:02).
Indiana will compete in the IUP Invitational on Saturday.
