HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: United girls win CC meet

ARMAGH — The United girls’ cross country team defeated Northern Cambria, 24-31, in a Heritage Conference meet Wednesday.

The Northern Cambria boys’ team didn’t have enough runners and didn’t compete as a team.

Eden Bloom finished second to lead the United girls’ team (2-1). Rileigh Ludwig finished third, Hannah Rensko placed fourth, Michelle Bloom took seventh, and Madeline Stinson came in eighth.

Allyson Kopera won the girls’ race with a time of 22 minutes, 10 seconds. Adriana Frontino finished fifth, Siena Previte took sixth, Katlyn Jones placed ninth, and Shannon Mazuak came in 10th.

The Colts’ Chris Woodley won the boys’ race with a time of 19:40. C.J. Wiewiora placed second, Reis Hill finished seventh, and Gus Yahner took eighth.

Top 10 finishers for United’s boys’ team were Gaige George (third), Noah Bracken (fourth), Derek Feather (fifth), Josh Stewart (sixth), D.J. Rodkey (ninth) and Jesse Isenberg (10th).

United travels to the Forest Hills Invitational on Saturday. Northern Cambria travels to Penns Manor today.
