UNITED 46, PURCHASE LINE 36: The Lions matched their counterparts on the boys’ team and completed Saturday’s sweep of the Red Dragons with a victory in a Heritage Conference game.

Eden Bloom scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to post yet another double-double for the Lions.

She’s averaging a double-double for the season with 16.3 points and 10.0 boards per game.

“Most games,” United coach Lee Ann Ault said, “she’s tough.”

United built a 25-19 halftime lead and stretched the advantage to 38-26 entering the final quarter. Although they were never able to break the game wide open, the Lions weren’t seriously threatened, either.

Kylee Surike scored a team-high 14 points for United, Taylor Mack added nine points, and Hope Hixson had eight points and six boards.

Erica Abrams had 11 points for Purchase Line, and Jaycelyn Fleming posted a double-double in the losing effort with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

United (11-5, 9-3) visits Johnstown on Monday for a non-conference game. Purchase Line (3-14, 1-11) visits Northern Cambria on Tuesday.
