HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE: Indiana stays perfect in section play
MONROEVILLE — In a game played Tuesday, Indiana took sole possession of first place in the section by besting Gateway, 13-6, in a WPIAL Division 2 Section 1 boys’ lacrosse game.
Dylan Stapleton led Indiana (6-3, 3-0 section) with four goals and an assist. Ryan Watters had three goals and an assist, David Zimmerman added two goals and two assists, and Keldon Spicher notched two goals and an assist. Luke Lewandowski and Kyle Grube scored a goal apiece, and Michael Supinka had two assists. Lewandowski piled up a team-high eight ground balls, and Max Kittelmann made eight saves in goal.
Indiana lost the junior varsity game, 5-4.
Chad Truman scored two goals, Jesse Lauber and Danyal Bajwa had a goal apiece, Sean Bray dished out an assist, and Connor Tshudy and Lauber each tallied four ground balls.
Indiana travels to The Kiski School on Saturday.
Indiana drops girls’ lacrosse game
HERMINIE — Indiana lost to Yough, 13-3, in a WPIAL Division 2, Section 1 girls’ lacrosse game Wednesday.
Chrissy Conklin led Indiana with three goals, and Logan Everett handed out two assists.
Aubrey Bohn picked up six ground balls, and Haley Sesock and Cassie Lydick chipped in with three apiece.
Leah Pidgeon made10 saves in goal.
Yough won the junior varsity match, 8-4.
Alicia Kunkle scored two goals, and Teresa Roth and Claire Kuzneski each added a goal. Taylor Marcozzi and Roth each had four ground balls, and Chyenne Yeager made six saves in goal.
Indiana plays host to The Ellis School on Tuesday.
