H.S. FOOTBALL: Penns Manor 35, Marion Center 6
KENWOOD — Penns Manor amassed 297 rushing yards and scored four first-half touchdowns en route to a win over Marion Center in a Heritage Conference football game Friday at Pat Corrigan Field.
Quarterback Luke Kowalski scored on a 1-yard run just 2:27 into the game to give Penns Manor an early 7-0 lead.
Just 6:53 later, running back Ethan Marshall scored from 4 yards to stretch Penns Manor’s lead to 14-0.
Running back Bailey Mumau ran 20 yards untouched for a touchdown with 8:24 to go in the first half, stretching the lead to 21-0.
Running back Louie Tate then made it 28-0 by scoring on a 20-yard run with 4:57 to play in the first half.
Marshall put the mercy rule into effect when he scored from 4 yards just 4:58 into the second half to extend Penns Manor’s lead to 35-0.
Colton Fairman scored Marion Center’s lone touchdown on a 6-yard run with 4:50 to play.
Kowalski paced the Comets with 100 yards on 12 carries. He also completed two passes for 41 yards. Mumau added 62 yards on six carries, and Tate had 51 yards on eight attempts.
Marion Center quarterback Blake Orr finished 10 of 24 passing for 145 yards.
