H.S. SOCCER: Indiana boys win Labor Day tourney

David Zimmerman scored the eventual game-winning goal five minutes into the second half, and the Indiana boys’ soccer team edged DuBois, 1-0, in the championship game to win the season-opening IHS Labor Day tournament Saturday at the Fifth Street Complex.

The goal was assisted by Cole Rosenberger, and goalie Corey Denlinger made four saves in the title game.

Hollidaysburg topped Punxsutawney 5-1 in the consolation game.

In Friday’s first round, Zimmerman and Rosenberger, both juniors, each scored to lead Indiana to a 2-1 victory over Punxsutawney. Denlinger finished with 11 saves. DuBois beat Hollidaysburg 1-0.

Indiana (2-0) will welcome Greensburg Salem on Tuesday.
