HS SOFTBALL: Indiana rallies for victory
Indiana fell behind 6-0, tied the score in the seventh and won in its last at-bat, 11-8 over Leechburg, in a WPIAL non-section girls’ softball game Saturday afternoon at the Indiana Little League Complex.
Dana Piper drilled a double to the fence with the bases loaded to drive in the winning runs. Adrian Smith started the one-out rally with a walk, Sarah Freehling stroked a double, and Beth Balencic was issued an intentional walk to load the bases.
Balenci struck for a two-run homer in the sixth inning, and Jayci Drew knocked in Logan Everett with a single to tie the score at 8. Everett reached on her second hit of the game.
Smith belted a three-run home run in the third to launch Indiana on the comeback trail.
Brooke Ruffner picked up the win. She struck out six and walked two.
Indiana (8-8) play host to Greensburg Salem on Tuesday.
Penns Manor camp scheduled
KENWOOD — A basketball camp for boys and girls will be held at Penns Manor High School on June 17 to 21 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The camp is open to any boy or girl entering grades 3 to 7. The cost is $50 before June 1 and $60 after May 31.

IHS baseball golf tournament set
A golf tournament to benefit the Indiana High School baseball program will be held Saturday, May 25, at Meadow Lane Golf Course.
The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The cost is $80 per player, which includes golf, cart, food and beverages.
Corporate sponsors are available at $500, and hole sponsorships are available for $100. Corporate sponsorships includes a foursome in the tournament.

IHS slates girls’ camp
The Indiana High School girls’ basketball team will hold its skills camp for girls entering grades 2 through 7 from June 10 through June 13, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the high school.
IHS varsity players and coaches will aid in basketball instruction.
The cost is $70.
