HS TRACK AND FIELD: Indiana boys split pair of meets

GREENSBURG — The Indiana boys’ track and field beat Penn-Trafford, 99-51, but fell to Hempfield, 93-57, in a WPIAL Section 1-AAA triangular meet Wednesday as the Indians suffered their first dual-meet loss of the season.

The Indiana girls’ team fell to Hempfield, 129-16, and Penn-Trafford, 104-46.

Darnae Clemons won the long jump and the high jump to pace the Indiana boys’ team (4-1). Corey Denlinger won the javelin, Brian Waryck took the pole vault, and Darrious Carter placed first in the triple jump.

Aaryn Gray won the javelin to lead the girls’ team (0-5).

Indiana travels to Latrobe for the ninth- and 10th-grade meet Friday.
