ICL BASEBALL: New Derry tops Blairsville

BLAIRSVILLE — Dom DePalma and Luke Yandrick drove in seventh-inning runs to lift New Derry over Blairsville, 5-4, in an Indiana County League baseball game Tuesday evening at One River Field.

DePalma and Yandrick each hit RBI singles to break a 3-3 tie. Andrew Iezzi scored for Blairsville on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh, but the Colts got no closer.

Scott Dixon slugged a home run, Zach Dixon went 3-for-4, and DePalma finished 2-for-4 for the Tigers.

Jarred Pennavaria homered and went 2-for-3 to lead Blairsville.

Scott Harsh was 2-for-2 with a double, and Joe Culler added two hits.

New Derry’s Connor Wege struck out four and walked one in six innings to pick up the win.

Ben Doak took the loss in two innings of relief.

New Derry (9-12) and Blairsville (13-9-1) play again tonight in Blairsville.
