First-place Blairsville gave pitcher Jordan Truscott more than enough run support, and the Colts secured their third straight win with a 9-0 victory over Greensburg in an Indiana County League baseball game Thursday at One River Field.

Blairsville scored three runs on three hits and an error in the bottom of the first inning. Craig Paouncic ripped a two-run single to ignite the scoring, and Nick Draghi added an RBI single.

An inning later, the Colts plated two runs on two hits and a walk to extend the lead to 5-0.

Truscott fired a two-hitter, allowing a single each to Lou Downey and Cody Kern. Truscott struck out 13 and walked two.

“This is the third year we’ve had this group of guys,” Blairsville player-manager Joe Culler said. “We all know now that we’re part of a team, and we know that different guys have different roles. Everyone’s starting to find their niche and fill their responsibility. Sometimes teams rely on just one hitter or pitcher, but it’s been a total team effort here.”

Paouncic finished 2-for-2 with a double, and Draghi went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. David Doak and Cory Manarelli each singled and drove in two runs. Scott Harsh singled and doubled.

Blairsville (12-3-1) travels to Apollo on Sunday, and Greensburg (3-10) plays at Bovard today.

TRENDY TRADES 11, APOLLO 5: Seven of Trendy Trades’ nine batters had extra-base hits, and six had at least two hits as the Graceton squad scored in every inning except the first and rolled past Apollo in a game in Spring Church.

Nate Morrow clubbed a solo home run in the third inning, and Larry Cadile had a two-run shot in the sixth to highlight Trendy Trades’ attack. Bryan Buzi went 3-for-4 with a double. Cadile, Logan Douglas, Kurt Krejocic, Travis Redinger and Mike Panchik added two hits each. Douglas, Bernat, Craig Krejocic and Kurt Krejocic each had a double.

Kurt Krejocic struck out six and walked four in six innings to pick up the win.

Ryan McGonigle went 3-for-3 and Ryan Held finished 3-for-4 to lead Apollo.

Held struck out five and walked one in five innings.

Both teams play Sunday. Trendy Trades (4-7) plays host to West Lebanon in a doubleheader, and Apollo (6-10) visits Amfire Mining.

BOVARD 10, NEW DERRY 3: Host Bovard racked up 10 hits and plated the game’s first six runs en route to a win over New Derry.

Zach Martin powered Bovard by going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Dan Moyer singled twice, and Doug Gallick, Bud Walor and Mike Johnson each singled and drove in two runs. Nick Fetterman singled twice.

Tim Buzzard struck out six and walked three in six innings to notch the win.

Jesse Hart led New Derry with three singles and an RBI.

Losing pitcher Zack Bowman struck out four and walked four in four innings.

Bovard (7-3-1) welcomes Greensburg on today, and New Derry (6-7) plays host to Blairsville on Sunday.
