IJHS teams place at WAADA meet

LATROBE — The Indiana Junior High School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams placed second and third, respectively, in the blue division at the WAADA Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Latrobe High School.

Bryce Myers won the pole vault to lead the Indiana boys. Matt Nelson took fourth in the shot put, Ethan Marcozzi finished sixth in the shot put, and Marcozzi ran on the fifth-place 400 relay team, which also included Josiah Johnson, A.J. Nickas and Jason Zheng.

For the Indiana girls, Meredith Price placed third in the 1,600 and ran on the sixth-place 3,200 relay team, which also included Hunter Fanella, Melina Hilliard and Gia Spadafora. Sydney Crane took fourth in the 100 and the 200, and Maria Valentin placed fifth in the high jump. Spadafora and Hilliard also ran on the third-place 1,600 relay team, which also included Mia Ciocca and Sophia McCabe.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished the dual-meet season with records of 8-0.
