WEST LEBANON 6, APOLLO 1: West Lebanon hit a season-high three home runs and backed a gem from Garret Mack to win at Apollo.

Tyler Beitel put West Lebanon on the board first by blasting a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. Mike Godissart then belted a two-out solo shot later in the inning to make the score 3-0.

The following inning, Dylin Brooks clubbed a two-run homer with two outs to stretch West Lebanon’s lead to 6-1.

Mack tossed a one-hitter to get the win. He struck out five and walked seven.

“We’re usually fighting and scrapping to get two or three runs from a few base hits or an error here or there,” West Lebanon player-manager Josh Mottorn said.

“Tonight a couple guys stepped back and just laid into a few pitches, and that ended up being the difference in the game.”

Beitel finished 3-for-4 to lead West Lebanon. Brooks went 2-for-4.

Nick Pullano chalked up Apollo’s lone hit, a single in the bottom of the first inning.

Both teams play Thursday. West Lebanon (3-5-1) travels to New Derry, and Apollo (2-11) visits Blairsville.
