WEST LEBANON — West Lebanon erased an early two-run deficit, racked up 13 hits and scored a season-high in runs to topple Apollo, 18-5, in the opening game of the quarterfinal round of the Indiana County League baseball playoffs Wednesday at Bertolino Field.

Fourth-seeded West Lebanon (9-14-1) travels to fifth-seeded Apollo for the second game of the best-of-three series today.

“In a short series you never want to go down 1-0,” West Lebanon player-manager Josh Mottorn said. “We started out slow and gave up some early runs, but we came back and the offense showed up for a change.”

Anthony Piccolini paced West Lebanon by going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs.

Mike Percic went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, Mitch Yard singled twice and scored three runs, and Mottorn doubled and drove in two runs.

Garrett Mack fanned four, walked five and served up nine hits in a complete-game win. Mack also went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
