IUP SWIMMING: Duo win PSAC titles
YORK — IUP’s Steve Long and Allyson Mitidieri won events on the second day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Swimming Championships.
Long won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.70 seconds.
Ben Adams had an NCAA B cut time in the 100 butterfly at 50.39. He then finished eighth in the finals at 50.68.
Also placing the top 12 were Brandon Hopkins in the 400 individual medley (seventh, 4:06.62), Matthew Nakagama in the in the 400 individual medley (eighth, 4:09.84), Chris Strauss in the 200 freestyle (sixth, 1:42.37) and Alex Plimpton in the 200 freestyle (eighth, 1:44.20).
In the women’s meet, Mitidieri won the 400 individual medley in a school-record time of 4:21.83.
Aniella Janosky also was an NCAA B qualifier in the 100 butterfly at 56.82.
Also placing the top 12 were Paige Spradling in 400 individual medley (eighth, 4:36.40), Allison Humphries in the 100 butterfly (eighth, 58.07), Christina Janosky in the 200 freestyle (11th, 1:54.24) and Dana Steinert in the 200 freestyle (12th, 1:54.88).
