JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Wildcats finish 18-1, win conference crown

Homer-Center finished with a 16-0 conference mark and captured the Heritage Conference title by defeating Northern Cambria, 63-10, in a ninth-grade girls’ basketball game Tuesday at the Homer Dome.

Lexi Newhouse scored a game-high 17 points to lead Homer-Center. Emily Worcester added 16 points, and Madison Valyo tacked on 12 points.

Homer-Center won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 28-6.

Homer-Center (18-1) concluded its season.


PENNS MANOR 43, SALTSBURG 13: Penns Manor improved to 13-5 by defeating Saltsburg in Kenwood.

Autumn Fennell and Kateri Johnston scored 11 points apiece for Penns Manor.

Saltsburg won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 18-13.

Penns Manor travels to United on Thursday.


BLAIRSVILLE 51, LIGONIER VALLEY 28: Rena Enterline scored a game-high 26 points to lead Blairsville to a win over host Ligonier Valley.

Lexie Petrof scored 14 points to pace Ligonier Valley.

Blairsville won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 44-14.

McKenzie Misleany scored 11 points for Blairsville.

Blairsville plays host to Marion Center on Thursday.
