LEGION BASEBALL: Marion Center beats Clymer

MARION CENTER — Marion Center plated nine runs in the first two innings and handcuffed Clymer Legion en route to a 9-2 win in an Indiana County Youth Legion baseball game Wednesday.

Marion Center scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning to take a 6-1 lead and added three runs on three hits in the following inning to stretch to make it 9-1.

Matt Badzik singled three times to pace Marion Center. Eric Stitt and Matt Gaston each singled twice.

Jared Marshall struck out two and walked three in 1 1-3 innings to earn the win. Tyler Howells struck out three and walked none in 5 2-3 innings of relief.

Both teams play Friday. Marion Center (2-1) travels to United NRG, and Clymer Legion plays host to S.W. Jack.
