Marion Center loses swim meets

MARION CENTER — Lauren Krecota won two individual events and helped a relay team to a victory in Marion Center’s swim meet against Hollidaysburg on Monday.

The Stingrays lost the girls’ meet, 115-55, and the boys’ meet, 119-51.

Krecota won the 100 breaststroke and set a school record in the 100 butterfly with a time of one minute, 4.04 seconds to lead Marion Center’s girls. She teamed up with Cherise Schultz, Robin Schultz and Brianna Adkins in the 200 freestyle relay.

Cherise Schultz improved on her District 6-qualifying time in the 200 individual medley.

For the boys, three Stingrays posted new qualifying times. Seth White improved in the 50 freestyle, Edward Clark marked new times in each the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, and Cage Hankinson progressed in the 100 backstroke.
