Purchase Line girls win first game

PATTON — Mikhala Stover made a field goal with two seconds left in the game to lift Purchase Line to its first win of the year, 47-45, over Bald Eagle Area in the opening round of the Cambria Heights Holiday girls’ basketball tournament Thursday.

With the game knotted 45-45, Purchase Line’s Brianna Riva deflected a Bald Eagle Area pass into the hands of teammate Koren McCullough. McCullough then hit Stover, who nailed a jump shot to seal the win.

McCullough posted a double-double, piling up 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jaycelyn Fleming added nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds, Ashley Goodlin added nine points.

Purchase Line (1-7) faces Cambria Heights in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
