SENIOR LEGION BASEBALL: Indiana rallies to beat Homer City
Izaak Gray capped a comeback and ripped an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Indiana Legion to a 13-12 win over Homer City Legion in an Indiana County Senior Legion baseball game Monday at Keystone Rehab Field.
With the win, Indiana Legion (8-3) pulled within a half-game of Kovacik Insurance (9-3).
With the game tied 12-12 in the seventh, Gray singled to drive in the game-winning run, capping a four-run rally by the Ponies.
Homer City Legion broke a tie in the top of the seventh by plating three runs to make the score 12-9.
Chase Kromer singled, doubled and drove in four runs to lead Indiana Legion. Kevin Jack singled twice and drove in two runs, Gray and Grant Schrecengost each singled twice, and Bo Putt singled and drove in two runs.
Jack pitched one-third of an inning to pick up the win.
John Capitosti went 3-for-5 to pace Homer City Legion (1-9). Alex Arone went 2-for-4, and Stephen McLoughlin singled and drove in three runs.
The teams play again today at First Commonwealth Field in Homer City.
