SENIOR LEGION BASEBALL: Punxsutawney tops Marion Center

PUNXSUTAWENEY — Punxsutawney scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a tie in a 9-6 victory over Marion Center in an Indiana County Senior Legion baseball game Thursday.

Dakota Thomas, Ruben Taylor and Brandon Blose each had two of Punxsutawney’s eight hits.

Hunter Stiteler banged out three of Marion Center’s 10 hits. Andrew Fox and Joe Brendle chipped in two hits apiece, and Justin Tonkin drove in two runs.

Corey Geer picked up the win.

Both teams plays Saturday. Marion Center (2-7) plays at Young Township, and Punxsutawney (4-4) plays a doubleheader at Kovacik Insurance.
