YOUNG TOWNSHIP 10, PUNXSUTAWNEY 2: Jarrett Geifer pitched a complete-game four-hitter, and Young Township dominated the later innings in a victory over Punxsutawney in an Indiana County Senior Legion game Sunday.

Young Township trailed 2-1 before scoring nine runs in the last four innings. Mike Percic capped the game with a grand slam home run in the seventh inning.

Mitchel Yard and Mitch Johnston each banged out two hits and drove in two runs for Young Township.

Clayton Dale had two hits for Punxsutawney.

Both teams play Tuesday. Young Township plays host to Indiana Legion, and Punxsutawney visits Marion Center.

INDIANA LEGION 8-11, KOVACIK INSURANCE 4-7: In a doubleheader played Saturday, Indiana Legion amassed a combined 19 hits and mounted four-run rallies in the sixth inning of each game to sweep visiting Kovacik Insurance.

In Game 1, the Ponies broke a 3-3 tie by plating four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-3 lead.

Chase Kromer and Grant Schrecengost each singled twice for Indiana Legion. Bo Putt singled and drove in two runs.

Matt Griffith struck out two and allowed two earned runs in 5 1-3 innings to earn the win.

Cameron Livingston and Lucas Palmer smacked two singles apiece for Kovacik Insurance. Scott Thompson singled and drove in two runs.

Kovacik Insurance starting pitcher Andrew Schultz struck out four, walked two and allowed three earned runs and four hits in four innings.

The Ponies built a 7-4 lead in Game 2 before plating four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to stretch their lead to seven runs, 11-4.

Jordan Hudzicki powered Indiana Legion by going 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Hudzicki also struck out two and walked three in five innings of relief.

Putt and Homer Woody each singled twice and drove in two runs, and Grant Schrecengost singled and drove in two runs.

Winning pitcher Bobby Bell struck out one and allowed one hit in two innings.

Bobby Gaston singled twice and scored three runs to pace Kovacik Insurance. Nick Payne and Colton McMillan each singled twice.

Both teams play Tuesday. Indiana Legion travels to Young Township, and Kovacik Insurance plays host to Homer City Legion.
