YOUNG TOWNSHIP 6, MARION CENTER 1: It took Young Township seven innings, but the Renegades finally gave staff ace Ian Satler the run support he needed in the midst of a gem against host Marion Center.

Young Township broke open a tied game and plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away for a win.

With the game knotted 1-1, the Renegades used five hits to score five runs in the seventh and take a 6-1 lead.

“There were no big hits and no errors or walks that inning,” Marion Center coach Joe Bunyak said. “They basically just chipped away. Give them credit, though, they played fundamental baseball and we didn’t.”

Satler tossed a two-hitter. He struck out 14, walked none and allowed a pair of base hits and one earned run.

Tanner Yard, Mitchel Yard and Mitch Johnston each singled twice for the Renegades.

Losing pitcher Justin Tonkin struck out two, walked one and surrendered two hits in 6 2-3 innings.

Marion Center (2-9) plays host to Young Township (7-4) on Tuesday.
