Three golfers net aces on area links

Tony Agius, of Boca Raton, Fla., aced the 130-yard hole No. 5 at Meadow Lane Golf Course on Monday. He used a pitching wedge.

Witnesses were Lance Brunetto and Francis Russel, both of Indiana, and John Mintzer, of Pittsburgh.

• Larry Seesholtz, of Shelocta, shot a hole-in-one Monday at Mannitto Golf Club.

He used a 4-iron to make the 154-yard No. 18.

The witness was Mike Brosko.

• Deano Martin, of Indiana, scored a hole-in-one on at the Indian Springs Golf and Country Club on May 19.

Martin aced the 129-yard, par-3 No. 10 with a 6-iron.

Witnesses were Joe Bujdos Sr., Joey Bujdos and Mark Lapusnak.

McDonald’s wins LL game

McDonald’s defeated Moose, 15-5, in an Indiana Little League baseball game on Monday.

Colin Carnahan went 3-for-3, and Ty Matos, Vinny Sherry, Ewing Greenhill, Gunner Sharp, Luke Thomas and Carnahan added extra-base hits for McDonald’s. Sharp and Thomas slugged home runs.

Matt Robinson smacked two hits for Moose. Saige Bowditch, Nick Wood, Chase Cunningham and Reed Louther added one hit each.

Sharp was the winning pitcher.

IUP baseball camp scheduled

The IUP baseball team will hold a summer camp from June 17 to 20 for players ages 7-15.

The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at the Owen J. Dougherty complex on IUP’s South Campus.

The cost is $110 with early registration, and $125 the week of the camp.

The IUP coaching staff and players will offer instruction.

Rosenberger sets soccer camp

Cole Rosenberger, a junior on the Indiana boys’ soccer team, will hold Coach Cole’s Kicks for Kids soccer camp this summer.

The camp will consist of four, 45-minute, one-on-one sessions per period. The cost is $40 per period.

The IUP men’s basketball program will hold summer camps on June 24 to 27 and July 22 to 25. The camps are for players ages 7 to 17.
