WINNER: IUP 42, LOCK HAVEN 0
IUP started slow, scoring just once on five first-half possessions, but the Crimson Hawks turned it up in the second half and rolled past Lock Haven, 42-0, in a PSAC West football game Saturday at Miller Stadium, setting an NCAA record in the process.
With the win, IUP has defeated Lock Haven 31 straight seasons since 1982, setting an NCAA Division II record for most wins over one opponent in an uninterrupted series.
East Stroudsburg had defeated Cheyney 30 straight times from 1980 to 2009 and shared the record with IUP prior to Saturday.
Lock Haven (0-3), which has not scored this season, lost its 45th straight game, and the Bald Eagles are now one loss away from matching the Division II record of 46 straight losses, held by Minnesota-Morris (1998-2003).
