YOUTH HOCKEY: IYHA teams win four of five
Indiana Youth Hockey Association teams won four of five games over the weekend.
Richard Lias collected three goals and an assist to lead the visiting Squirt B2 Division team to a 4-1 win over the Mount Lebanon Hornets on Sunday.
Payton Firestone added a goal, Adam Clark and Jack Mock each had an assist, and goalie Corbin Murdick made 17 saves.
Allisyn Arotin piled up three goals and two assists to pace the U14 girls’ team to a 7-3 win over host Allegheny on Sunday.
Hannah Fondren scored two goals, Natilie Hill and Taylor Lang each scored a goal, and Ashley Yanni and Carlie Glavach each chipped in two assists. Audrey Josephson dished out an assist, and goalie Madison Barker made 19 saves.
On Saturday, the U14 girls’ team blanked host South Hills, 2-0.
Arotin and Glavach each scored a goal, Yanni had an assist, and Barker made nine saves to notch a shutout.
Eddie Williams tallied two goals and an assist to lead the Pee Wee A Major White team to a 3-0 win over the Mount Lebanon Hornets at S&T Bank Arena on Saturday.
Orlando Clark added a goal, Zach Eisenhower had two assists, Owen Lydick and Gunner Sharp tacked on an assist apiece, and goalie Alex Nanni made nine saves to earn a shutout.
