I-Medical strengthened its hold on first place, sweeping Indiana Lions in a doubleheader in Punxsutawney.

Dakota Byers and Lance Pennington both doubled in the first game for I-Medical. Byers struck out five and walked one in five innings for the win, and Tyler Richardson struck out two in two innings of relief, shutting the door with a three-pitch seventh inning.

Izaak Gray had two hits, including a double, for Indiana Lions. Ian Helsel struck out six and walked five in six innings to take the loss.

I-Medical pulled away in the middle innings for a more comfortable victory in the second game. Pennington had two doubles, and Byers and Brandon Douthit added one each.

Pennington pitched all seven innings, striking out eight and walking two, holding Indiana Lions to one run on four hits in the win.

Cameron Allmendinger struck out one and walked four in four innings to take the loss, and Bryden Lorelli struck out two and walked four in three innings of relief.

I-Medical (15-2) travels to Marion Center on Wednesday, and Indiana Lions (11-8) visits S.W. Jack on Friday.
