The Indiana County Farmers’ Market will hold its annual Kids Day on Saturday during the regular 9 a.m. to noon hours for the market behind S&T Bank at Eighth and Church streets in downtown Indiana.
Free drop-in activities are planned. Children can experience nature play with Tinkergarten as they plant seeds and explore nature treasures and SQUAD Jr., a sticky nature collage.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Lively Arts, a booth from the Armstrong Clarion Indiana Drug & Alcohol Commission, cooking demonstrations by Philly Street Station and live music by Dan Stonerook also are planned.
This week, the farmers’ market continues a season-long display of different produce items with lettuce in the spotlight. Participants can taste a sample of one of the various kinds of lettuce, and earn a market buck to use toward the purchase of lettuce at the market. Children can pick up their samples at the market information booth, and adults can sample food from the cooking demonstration.
Patrons to the market can use credit, debit and EBT cards to pay for merchandise.
