DUQUESNE 88, TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN 69: Ovie Soko scored 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead Duquesne over Texas-Pan American in a non-conference road men’s game.
The Dukes (6-5) took control of the game with a 22-4 run midway through the first half that included back-to-back 3-pointers by Micah Mason in building a lead that was never challenged. Mason contributed 14 points in the win, while Jeremiah Jones added 11 and Tra’ Vaughn White 10.
Duquesne hit 34 of 68 shots for its third straight game with at least 50 percent shooting. The Broncs (4-5) quickly fell behind in the opening minutes before battling back to tie it at 15 on a Shaquille Hines jumper with 12:39 to go in the first half. But it was the last time Texas-Pan Am would challenge the Dukes in the game. Hines led the Broncs with 27 points and Javorn Farrell added 20.
