NFL: Steelers sign free agent
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former Houston cornerback Brice McCain to a one-year contract.
Terms were not disclosed. McCain spent five seasons with the Texans after being selected in the sixth round of the 2009 draft. He started a career-high four games in 2013, finishing with one interception and 30 total tackles.
The 27-year-old McCain has five interceptions in his career, including one returned for a touchdown. He is expected to fight for a spot in Pittsburgh’s nickel package behind starters Ike Taylor and Cortez Allen.
Jackson inks deal with ’Skins
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Redskins made their biggest move yet of the offseason Tuesday night, adding three-time Pro Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson less than a week after the dynamic playmaker was released by the rival Philadelphia Eagles.
Jackson’s publicist tweeted that Jackson was signing with the Redskins following two days of meetings with coaches and officials.
• BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The doctor treating Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly for cancer said Kelly will start chemotherapy and radiation next week.
