Last meeting — The Penguins won, 4-3, at home on March 4, with goals from Chris Kunitz, Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and James Neal. Steven Stamkos scored twice and Tom Pyatt added another goal for Tampa Bay. The win was the second in the Penguins’ 15-game win streak.

Notes — While Sidney Crosby remains out with a broken jaw, the Penguins can help their captain in the scoring race by holding down his two closest competitors, Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos (second in the league with 50 points) and Martin St. Louis (third, 49). Crosby still holds the league’s scoring lead with 56 points. … Winger James Neal (concussion) and defenseman Paul Martin (broken bone in hand) remain out, and defenseman Kris Letang (lower-body injury) remains day-to-day. … The Penguins have won five straight against the Lightning and are 7-2 in the past nine meetings.

About the Lightning — Tampa Bay is 13th in the Eastern Conference standings, eight points behind the eighth-place New York Rangers for the final playoff spot. … The Lightning are 5-0-1 in their last six home games. They defeated Ottawa, 3-2, at home on Tuesday. Pierre-Cedric Labrie, Vincent Lecavalier and Steven Stamkos scored for the Lightning. Ben Bishop stopped 31 of 33 shots. … Stamkos leads the league in goals (26), and Martin St. Louis is second, to Sidney Crosby, in assists (40). … Tampa Bay acquired the netminder Bishop from Ottawa in exchange for rookie forward Cory Conacher and a fourth-round draft pick. Bishop is 2-2 with a .944 save percentage in four games with the Lightning.
