Two Indiana County residents are among 99 cadets who graduated Friday from the State Police Academy in Hershey.
Craig A. Fry was assigned to Troop J, based in Embreeville, Chester County, while John A. Reken was assigned to Troop E, based in Warren.
Because of restrictions imposed because of the COVID-19 crisis, the graduation ceremony was closed to the public, though they could view the event via a livestream on the academy’s Facebook page.
“The men and women graduating today join the ranks at an unprecedented time in our department’s history,” state police Commissioner Col. Robert Evanchick told the 158th class to graduate from the academy.
“Friends and family were unfortunately unable to attend and celebrate in person, but we are grateful for their support as our newest troopers begin their public service careers in a period of extraordinary need.”
