The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development announced more than $3 million in federal Community Development Block Grant money is being distributed to projects in Indiana and four other counties.

The Peg Run Reservoir, serving Cherry Tree and the Uniontown area of Green Township, will receive $230,000 toward bringing that source into compliance with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

DCED spokeswoman Dominique Lockett said the money also will be used for rehabilitation work on the reservoir’s concrete spillway, to help keep that facility in compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Dam Safety Division regulations.

DCED Secretary Dennis Davin said the rest of the funding announced Friday would go toward providing clean water and improving sewage systems for communities in Greene, Luzerne, Mifflin, and Schuylkill counties.
