PUNXSUTAWNEY — Authorities Thursday afternoon ended their search for a Clarion County man who they said had fired a gun into a house during a domestic dispute and hid from police in a wooded area north of Indiana County on Wednesday night.
State police at Punxsutawney, in a one-sentence news release, reported just before 5 p.m. that Ryan Snyder had been taken into custody.
Investigators said Snyder, of Mayport, fired shots Wednesday evening near 459 Sandy Hill Road in Ringgold Township. While searchers concentrated their quest for Snyder on the Jefferson-Armstrong county line just north of West Mahoning Township, troopers filed attempted homicide, aggravated assault and burglary charges in a 23-count criminal complaint. The indictment includes five felony counts of discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure.
Investigators said nothing of the circumstances of the end of the search.
Snyder, 39, also had been sought by police on charges of terroristic threats and simple assault that had been filed by state police following a disturbance July 28 in Ringgold Township.
Online court records this morning left unclear whether Snyder had been formally charged or what bond had been set on the charges.
