Friends, family, and brothers of Kappa Sigma fraternity will honor and celebrate the life of Brian Henry Swatt at a service on Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. in Toretti Auditorium inside the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
A reception will follow in the building’s DeChurch Lobby.
Swatt, who passed away in an automobile accident on June 7, was a senior majoring in political science.
A native of Jermyn, he was a first-generation college student who was active in many areas of campus,
including serving as the president of the IUP Student Government Association and as an active member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
He was selected by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolfe to serve as a student member on Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education Board of Governors and was a staff member in state Sen. Joe Pittman’s office.
Parking for the event will be available in the Wayne Avenue parking lot.
