The search for a missing Young Township woman came to a tragic end Friday afternoon, when she was found dead in her overturned car in a stream along Taylor Road in Armstrong Township.
State police at Indiana said passersbv observed a car belonging to Lori Ann Lane, 55, of West Lebanon, overturned on its passenger side in the stream. Troopers and first responders dispatched there at approximately 3:30 p.m. found Lane deceased inside the vehicle.
Earlier in the day, Lane’s husband told state police she last had been seen at her home between 8 and 9 p.m. Thursday.
Due to the circumstances, Indiana state police spokesman Trooper Cliff Greenfield said, the state police Troop A Major Case Team was activated.
“However,” Greenfield added, “upon investigation, foul play is not suspected.”
Indiana County Coroner Jerry L. Overman Jr. affirmed that, but said the cause and manner of Lane’s death is pending until the results of an autopsy and toxicology are received.
As part of the state police investigation, Greenfield is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Troop A, Indiana station at (724) 357-1960.
