Letter to the Editor: A timely helping hand
On Tuesday afternoon, July 8, our dairy farm was hit with a microburst-type storm. Our heifer barn was destroyed and five large trees were uprooted.
We thank God that no one was hurt and our houses and main barns are still intact.
We want to express our gratitude to the REA crew for their thorough and efficient service to work through the night hours replacing our main electric pole and connecting lines. We are also thankful for about a dozen volunteer neighbors who provided a flat bed truck, a large skid loader, chain saws and the manpower to clean up the trees.
We are blessed to live in a community where people so generously help others in an emergency.
