Letter to the Editor: Be part of tax rally in Harrisburg

on April 11, 2017 10:57 AM

The old adage of “there is nothing more certain than death and taxes” couldn’t be more true today. Taxes to fund school districts as well as local, state and federal governments unwilling to trim their budgets or listen to the taxpayers are killing our state and hurting struggling families. And taxes never go away.

Did you know that organizations like Americans for Prosperity (AFP-PA) exist to help educate taxpayers about the tax issues and critical votes on the horizon? They are known for mobilizing taxpayers in every state to come together and speak out against more taxes.

You’re invited to join AFP-PA at their sponsored Tax Freedom Day rally on Tuesday, April 18, at 12:30 p.m. at the State Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg. Bus transportation from Indiana will be provided for $10 per person (with scholarships available). Lunch is included. Pickup will be at 8 a.m. sharp at the Walmart parking lot in Indiana. Reservations are required by calling Ashley Klingensmith at (412) 915-1551 by no later than Friday, April 14.

Join principled leaders and fellow citizen leaders to tell our state leaders we need common-sense reforms and fiscally responsible budgets, not higher taxes.
