Letter to the Editor: Losing the blessing of God
Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord …”
America is in the midst of losing the blessing of God. We have ignored God’s warning. Many have ignored the principles and teachings of the Holy Scriptures that made America great. True Christians must stand on the Bible and not “give in” to the pressures of godless, immoral society.
Malachi 3:6a “For I am the Lord, I change not …”
If the Lord God Almighty does not change, then we should not change. Too many changes involving morality are destroying our country. We have become a weak, limp-wristed nation. It is time for men to be men and women to be ladies. Too many are giving into the homosexual agenda. Read of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Scriptures for example. God has never approved or accepted homosexuality, nor will He.
See Romans 1:23-32. Read it for yourself.
Proverbs 24:21-22 “My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?”
Changing the commands of God will remove the blessing of God. Keeping the commands of God will result in receiving the blessing of God. Changing the definition of marriage will not bring blessing. Sodomy and adultery have demised the God-instituted union of marriage. Too many want to legalize drugs; God has been kicked out of public schools; we are losing the next generation because of willfully ignoring the truth of Scripture. Our children are being corrupted before our eyes; we need to hold to the Scripture.
Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls …”
You may say that these words are “old fashioned.” You are right — they are! This is what made America great. These ideas are still alive and well in our church, and we are not interested in changing the Holy Scriptures in any way. Think about it, do you want to continue to trade morality for the blessing of God?
