Letter to the Editor: Shuster stood up to pressure on Obamacare
Our health care system is in crisis, possibly on the verge of collapse. In the very near future, thanks to the overreach of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), we could see the rationing of parts of our health care. In rural Pennsylvania, this could be a disaster waiting to happen.
Thankfully, Congressman Bill Shuster has made the tough votes and stood up to the Obama administration on this and other issues, too.
For example, tucked away in Obamacare is the Independent Payment Advisory Board, a 15-member group of government bureaucrats that is tasked to cut corners and achieve savings in Medicare. You know what that means for you and me: Our health care will be run from D.C. rather than by our local doctors and medical providers. When the D.C. bureaucrats act, we will feel the pain in the loss of coverage for, and accessibility to, health care providers.
Congressman Shuster voted to abolish this board.
However, this and many other Obamacare issues remain unresolved. Let’s send Bill Shuster back to Congress so this, and the many other Obamacare issues, get fixed.
