Patriots win to end regular season

Tyler Chambers racked up 23 points to lead the Calvary Baptist boys’ basketball team to a 55-24 win over visiting Slippery Rock Christian in the Patriots’ regular season finale Friday.

Calvary Baptist shut out Slippery Rock Christian in the first quarter and held it to just three points in the third.

Joel Knupp finished with12 points and had a team-high eight rebounds, and Chambers added seven rebounds.

Calvary Baptist (17-4) plays host to the Keystone Christian Education Association state tournament next weekend with the Patriots facing off against Walnut Street Christian School in the first round Friday.

• In a game played Thursday, the Calvary Baptist girls’ team rolled to a 49-34 win over Bedford CIA.

Megan Plants scored a game-high 25 points, and Kayla Chambers recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

The Patriots wrapped up their regular season with a 16-3 record and will also play host to the KCEA tournament beginning Friday. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
