Indiana Borough police continued their investigation of gunfire that was reported just before 2 a.m. Oct. 28 on the 200 block of South Seventh Street near South and Locust streets.
Two people, whose names have been withheld by police, were treated for wounds and released from Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Police reported soon after the shooting that investigators were “not receiving a lot of cooperation” as they scoured the area for evidence and information from witnesses.
Officers on Monday visited a residence on the east side of Seventh Street north of the Sheetz convenience store in a search for bullet casings, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Atherton, the lead investigator. None were found. He said the house wasn’t specifically suspected as the origin of gunfire but was checked as part of an overall inspection of the area where the victims were wounded.
“We are still following up on leads,” Atherton said this morning. “We are devoting all resources to solving the shooting and our investigation is still active.”
Police encouraged anyone with information about the gunfire Oct. 28 on South Seventh Street to phone (724) 349-2121.
