WEST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP :: An Armagh man was involved in two accidents less than half an hour apart, and suffered moderate injuries after the second accident, state police in Indiana reported.

Police said Randy M. Brendlinger, 23, tried to turn around at the end of Waylin Way around 12:53 p.m. Tuesday, backing into a parked 2001 Chevrolet Venture and running over three bicycles in the driveway.

Police said he fled the scene. At 1:15 p.m. on Merritt Lane, police said he was traveling too quickly for road conditions and traveled off the road on a left-hand curve, hitting a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.

He was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Hospital by Citizens' Ambulance.

Clyde and Armagh and East Wheatfield Township volunteer fire departments also assisted at the scene. Police said charges are pending in both accidents.

Stephen D. Addleman, 26, of Grampian, swerved to avoid a deer on Route 36 near Rainey Lane around 4:55 a.m. Wednesday and traveled off the road into an embankment before rolling over into a traffic sign and back onto the road, state police in Punxsutawney reported.

Addleman suffered minor injuries and was transported to DuBois Regional Medical Center-West by Mahaffey Ambulance Service, according to police.
