Munster Township, Cambria County

Part of the eastbound lane of Route 22 was closed for two hours Saturday after the raised boom of a backhoe being towed on a truck hit the concrete Cooney Road overpass over the highway, state police at Ebensburg reported.

Troopers withheld the name of the driver of the truck.

According to police, the structure sustained visible damage.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation was summoned to inspect the overpass.

Young Township

State police reported that a car driven by Tracey Hess, of Saltsburg, hit an embankment at 6:20 p.m. Friday along Park Drive near Coal Run Road.

Hess, 53, was treated for a minor injury at Indiana Regional Medical Center, according to troopers at Indiana.

Brush Valley Township

A vehicle driven by Vicki Rhone, of Elverson, Chester County, hit a deer at 5:50 a.m. Friday on Luciusboro Road, just west of Route 259, state police at Indiana reported. No one was said to be injured.
